Built To Be Trusted:
Networking and AV for a Leadership Summit
A client planning their national conference came to Talon with a networking challenge that ruled out the easy answer.
Their corporate data security policies flatly prohibited connecting corporate devices to the hotel's Wi-Fi, but they still needed fast, reliable internet for hundreds of attendees and for the onsite production team running audio, video, and lighting.
The Challenge
The client's IT policies meant the event network had to be entirely separate from the hotel's own internet, with client devices isolated from each other and from production equipment, and full support for a corporate VPN on every attendee laptop. On top of that isolation requirement, the network still needed to carry serious bandwidth: hundreds of attendees online at once, plus a production team regularly uploading and downloading large media files, all with consistent performance across every device. And it all had to go up fast, inside a temporary setup in a busy venue, without disrupting the flow of the event around it.
Talon engineered a private network that operated completely independently of the venue's infrastructure. Using a Peplink SDX Pro as the core router, the team built a temporary Network Operations Center backstage in the Video Village tech area, then bonded ten cellular modems across all three US 5G carriers to combine their bandwidth into one fast, redundant connection. Wi-Fi access points went up strategically around the venue for full coverage, with temporary cabling routed carefully to stay invisible to the event happening around it.

How We Solved It
Security and performance had to hold at the same time, not trade off against each other.
Built a temporary Network Operations Center backstage using a Peplink SDX Pro as the core router, managing the network building-wide
Bonded ten cellular modems across all three US 5G carriers for a fast, redundant, high-speed connection
Deployed Wi-Fi access points strategically around the venue for seamless coverage in every event area
Routed temporary cabling carefully to keep the setup invisible within the event's flow
Implemented device isolation so corporate devices couldn't communicate with other endpoints on the network, protecting sensitive data
Supported client PCs running a corporate VPN, keeping the network fully compliant with the client's IT policies

The Outcome
The event ran on a secure, high-speed private network that held up for everyone using it. Attendees had reliable Wi-Fi for work, email, and live event engagement, while the production team had all the bandwidth they needed for video streaming and AV integration. The client's strict security requirements were met in full, and the network performed well enough that the technical layer never became a conversation, which is exactly the point.
